Janae & Chris are a dating app success story (we love to hear it). She is a pediatrician and he is in the Air Force, and after years of long distance, they were able to settle down together in Tucson, and though they had to postpone their wedding once, they finally got to ditch their scrubs and flight suit and have their dream wedding at El Chorro in the fall!
They met in Omaha and both love outdoor adventures of all sorts. Chris is from Hawaii and Janae is from Minnesota, so like kind of different states!
Their El Chorro wedding was just FULL of personal and precious details, which we love so much!
As much as we hate that weddings have been so affected by the pandemic, we love that our couples are embracing their many wedding dates and invitation suites and including them in their wedding days.
Janae’s seamstress sewed part of her mom’s wedding dress was into the under part of Janae’s dress. Such a subtle and special way to include this detail!
How could we not include a feature of this handsome good boy??
Chris was given freshly made Hawaiian tea leaves to wear by his grandparents who flew in from Hawaii. This is such an incredibly special detail and one that is made even more special given our current life circumstances!
Janae & Chris had a saber ceremony on way down aisle as husband and wife. The arch is a symbolic act for commissioned officers that ensures the newlywed couple safe passage into their new life together. As soon as the ceremony is over, the ushers line up on either side of the aisle to the chapel steps. At the head usher’s command — “Draw sabers (cutlasses)” — the ushers raise their blades, edge up, into the air, carefully forming an archway. The newlyweds pass under the archway, and at the command — “Return sabers (cutlasses)” — the ushers return their weapons to their sides.
The Groom and groomsmen wore their uniform dress blues but they had custom tailored shirts underneath!
We are obsessed with this little corner for wedding photos in the fall at El Chorro!
Their first dance song was Die a Happy Man by Thomas Rhett and it suited them perfectly!
