Julia and Matt originally met each other back in high school, when they were both on the same cross-country team. But it would be several years before the couple would reconnect at a concert at the Mesa Amphitheater. That’s when they began dating and have stayed together ever since, even when Matt accepted a position to open a pharmacy in the Portland area three months after their first date! The two of them decided to continue to date long distance, without any real plan of how it would work out in the end. Hundreds of miles had nothing on these two, because about a year and a half later, after promising Julia he wouldn’t, Matt proposed while hiking Cathedral Rock in Sedona. It was just a few months after moving back to Phoenix. If you ask me, promises like that are meant to be broken!!!
We started their engagement session with a tribute to the night they reconnected at the Mesa Amphitheater. It was so fun to relive their story! Afterward, these two jumped on a tandem bike and the hilarity that ensued made for the best pictures! Add in the changing leaves and fall colors galore, their session was nothing less than perfect. I can’t wait to capture Julia and Matt’s wedding at The Farm at South Mountain in October!
