Molly & Garrett – Desert Botanical Gardens Engagement Session

The morning of Molly and Garrett’s engagement session was a gloomy one. It started pouring up in my neighborhood the night before, and it hadn’t stopped by the time I woke up. I quickly became a weather obsessed person, which is totally not a typical thing I have to worry about for shoots out here in the good ‘ol desert. Usually there’s only one forecast…sunny! So this rain thing was a bit odd, and we might’ve considered rescheduling their session, had they not been flying back to Charleston that evening. Needless to say, we decided to embrace the weather and go out and have a great session anyway! The sky must have known we were headed to the Desert Botanical Gardens, because it seemed to be one of the few areas where it wasn’t raining when we started. I love that they were up for anything and to be honest, the crazy weather made it somewhat an adventure as we strolled throughout the gardens with the sun peeking in and out of the clouds periodically. We even got a little ‘lucky’ and had a tiny drizzle for about 10mins as an excuse to break out the umbrella and get some cute shots of them under it! Soon after the drizzle, the skies opened up as if it hadn’t been a gloomy day at all, blessing us with beautiful sunshine to go with their adorable smiles! We had so much fun that we even decided to head over to Papago Park and grab some shots of these two love birds with the beautiful mountains behind them. They were all smiles and laughs the entire session, which I soooooo enjoyed! It was sad that I had to say goodbye to them at the end of the session, knowing they’d be headed back home to Charleston within a couple hours of our session. I can’t wait to see them again and capture their wedding at the Phoenix Country Club next year! Until then, here’s some of my fave shots of their cuteness…PS tell me you don’t LOVE her dress, I mean it’s got pockets!!!

BREATHTAKING ROMANTIC
EL CHORRO WEDDING

Every detail of their wedding was soft and romantic, from the soft and airy peach and patina color pallet, to the vintage and personal touches at every turn, their day was as beautiful as Aimee, Erik, and their love.
