Blush and Pearl | Verrado Golf Club Wedding – Phoenix, Arizona

Not too many fathers can say that they were there the minute their daughter laid eyes on the man that would hopelessly sweep her off her feet and become her husband. But Katie’s dad was with her as they toured Iowa State University, deciding which school she would inevitably end up attending on a track and field scholarship for the next four years. On that fateful day, as they turned a corner, there was Matthew, fit and sweaty in shorts and a t-shirt, running stairs as he trained for track.

Katie definitely noticed him at that moment, but what is more telling, is that her dad noticed her, noticing him. And when she announced that Iowa State was her school of choice, he wasn’t surprised in the least. But as any dad should, when Katie started talking about “This Matthew kid”, he did his best to do some research to make sure this was the kind of guy he wanted around his daughter. Dad even sent friends and family to ‘visit’ her at college to check the boy out. Not surprisingly, Matthew passed every test. He loves Katie with all his heart and soul and you can tell when she’s in his presence just how much he adores her.

Katie and Matthew decided to have a destination wedding, escaping the cold and snow of the midwest for the milder weather of Phoenix. Their friends and family joined them for their Verrado Golf Club wedding. It was an intimate affair, full of all the most important things, love, joy, and celebration! With special details like Katie wearing the pearl earrings and necklace that her mom wore on her own wedding, and her grandmother’s pearl bracelet, it was clear that this would be a day full of love and emotion.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, it was in the mid 70’s with clouds galore, making for a comfortable and fun outdoor wedding! The weather wasn’t as beautiful as this gorgeous couple though, her in a long sleeved, Casablanca lace bodice dress that fit her like a glove, and he looked so dapper in his tux and bowtie. Their wedding party’s look complimented them with the girls donning blush dresses with matching chiffon shawls, and the guys matching Matthew perfectly, down to their socks and boutonnieres. Did I mention the bride’s bouquet?!? Thee Wedding and Event Warehouse knocked it out of the park with blush roses surrounded with deep pinks and reds to accent the winter theme of the wedding.

After these two exchanged vows, we ventured out for their sunset portraits taken at spots that are absolute hidden treasures. Later, they joined their family and friends for the party of their lives! The speeches were hilarious and touching, and the dancing was amazing. To top it off, they had an incredible sketch artist, Adam Street, creating caricatures of the bride & groom and their guests! It was the perfect touch for such a fun gathering and an unforgettable day!
