The minute I heard Oliver’s voice when I met with him and Mistie, I was nostalgic. His German accent, though faint, immediately took me back to a place and time that I miss so dearly. So you can imagine how excited I was to hear about how his family would be coming to their wedding, traveling from all over the world with those wonderful German accents! I wish I could say that I was able to fluently converse with everyone, which was definitely my plan…I mean who can’t re-learn a language you haven’t spoken in 15 years overnight? When the day came, speaking German was the last thing on my mind. When Mistie put on her stunning Demetrio’s dress that was 100% made for her in every way, and Oliver put on his blue suit, it was all about capturing the excitement and beauty of their day. Minutes before the first look, it was pouring, but it was as if the skies somehow knew the importance of this moment, when he would lay eyes on the woman he was about to promise to love for a lifetime, because suddenly the rain stopped. There was no distraction from their love, and with the backdrop of the gorgeous Sassi doors behind them, time stopped. No one else existed. Later, during the ceremony, it began to pour. They kissed under umbrellas, a beautiful addition to their wedding story! Shortly after, they danced in the rain, gazing into each other’s eyes, oblivious to the rain and clouds. Oh Mistie & Oliver, your day was perfect, rain and all! And I can’t express how lucky I feel to have been able to capture it!
